A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson is an enthralling mystery following the too-curious-for-her-own-good protagonist Pippa Fitz-Amobi (Pip), who has decided to reinvestigate a murder from five years prior in her town–Fairview–for her senior capstone project. Whilst uncovering dark secrets about the supposed murder, Pip finds herself discovering much more than she sought out. As Pip gets closer and closer to the truth, an unknown source tells her to stop her digging. Pip has to determine what is more important: her safety or the truth, the latter of which she knows could change life in Fairview forever...

This book did not disappoint. Jackson’s writing draws you in from page one, and truly puts you on the edge of your seat. The format, switching from first to third person, makes you feel you are solving the mystery alongside Pippa. Reading this book helps unlock your detective abilities, and inspires a feeling of anticipation where you are physically unable to put the book down until you finish it. I would recommend this book to anyone age twelve or older. Even if mystery is not the genre you usually lean towards, I highly recommend giving this book a try.
